Italy's Finarte Semenzato

Finarte Semenzato one of the finest International Auction Houses brings together  Luigi Bartolini etchings, Giogio de Chircio lithographs and Paintings from Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall and Joan Mirò for their upcoming Modern and Contemporary Art Auction. That's only the first sale of the day.

The Italian painter and sculptor Chircio originated Metaphysical Paintings. His Gli Archeologi IV is estimated at €7,000-8,000 and is from the Methamorphsis Paris 1925. Several of this artist's sketches will also be available.

Il gufo [The Owl] also from 1925 is Luigi Bartolini, an Italian painter, and writer.

Works from the art collection of Marcello Venturoli, the noted journalist, writer and art critic form one part of the second half of the Modern and Contemporary Art Auction.

Many of these works include artist dedications "a Marcello" acknowledging the close relationship between the critic and his subjects. Included will be two still lives by Galileo Chini.

This afternoon's auction is comprised of works from 4 collections. The other three are An Important Roman Collection, Collection of Renato (Righetti) di Bosso's Heirs Verona and Non-Figurative Art, also a Roman Collection.

Collectors should watch for Antonio Donghi's landscape, Fabbrica di Roma, 1940 estimated at €38,000-40,000

Gian Marco Manusardi founded Finarte in 1959 and the auction house held it's first auction on November 21-22 in 1961.

Paolo Uccello's Santa Monaca e due fanciulli oranti, sold at Lire 3.075 billion (€ 1,588,363), set an Italian record for an auctioned work of art is one of the many successes in the history of the Auction House.

Recently, in 2002, Semenzato Casa d'Aste was merged into Finarte forming Finarte Semenzato Casa d'Aste.
