The idea is to celebrate the past century in US history, from the Wright brothers' successes, building of the
Empire State building in New York
and on through Omaha Beach to the Persian Gulf.

Works from photographers Lewis Hine, Walter Lubken, George Ackerman, Charles Fenno Jacobs, Dorothea Lange and Danny Lyon form
this exhibit. Some of the photographs are making their debut public display.
Ackerman worked at the Department of Agriculture for over 40 years. In that time he produced over 50,000 images of life in rural America. Hine's images
of children became a catalyst for social reform.
Picturing the Century is currently at the Musuem of Art and History at the McPherson Center in Santa Cruz, California.
