charged GST of 5%. Non-Canadians may request the funds back from the
Canadian government. We also charge HST etc to affected Canadian
provinces. All of our invoices include our GST/BIN Number to
allow the non-Canadians to request the GST back if they wish to do so and
the Canadians to submit their offset from the GST they pay, if they are
entitled to do so.

One Calendar Year dating from the day the ad went online.
What steps do I take to advertise in IATWM?
Please send an email to
this email address with the following information
- The article you wish to advertise in
- The size of the ad you wish to purchase.
We will reply to the email confirming whether advertising is available
and let you know what we need to create the ad.
Please do not send any attachments with the first email for the
following reasons.
- Our virus protection deletes messages from unknown email addresses
that have attachments
- For those who wish to create their own ads it is to your advantage
to know that the ad size you want is available before you create the ad.
We limit our top and bottom leaders to one each per
article.
What information do you request after the first contact?
IATWM will request the following in our reply email
After IATWM confirms that the ad space is available we need from all
advertisers
- The text you wish to appear when someone cursors over your ad
- The website page that you wish us to link with your ad. Even if it is
your homepage please send the direct link to us.
- We will not use images that you don't own. For example if you want to use an
image of Van Gogh's Sunflowers we can't use it for commercial
purposes on your behalf unless you have a licensing agreement with the
copyright holder. We'll need your
contact at the appropriate Rights Agency for us to confirm the limitations imposed with your licensing
agreement. This image restriction doesn't apply to
those selling artworks such as art galleries or artists. It does apply to those
selling prints or other replicas of artworks.
From those who create their own ads, we also need
- The ad file preferably in jpg, in the correct dimensions of the ad.
If you don't use jpg let us know what file type you use, we can work
with most types though jpg is standard. We recommend jpg so the ad can be reused by
you either with IATWM or elsewhere.
For those who want IATWM to create a simple text ad we also need
- The text you want in the ad
For those who want IATWM to use an image from their website we also need
- The location of the image that you wish us to use and its filename.
We will download it from your website.
- If the image is your logo that you had created or an image of
your business either can be used for your ad.
IATWM will send the ad we create on your behalf to you, for approval,
prior to publication for those who ask IATWM to create their ad.
What are the limitations if I create my own ad?
The sizes are found on our advertise
page.
We will not accept flashing or moving graphics or pop-up ads.
- They irritate our readers.
- IATWM will not produce moving graphic ads or use a pop-up link with
any ad.
- Advertisers who choose to use these ads will find they cost more to
produce,
since they are labor intensive to create.
We do not limit the dpi to 72 for ads.
Are there any benefits to creating my own ad?
- The ad is your property and can be reused in other publications
- IATWM provides the opportunity to alter an ad one time after payment
is received. For those who create their own ads we will accept a new ad
in the same location and at the same size. This means you are free to
make any changes that you wish except for size and location. Obviously
we won't accept a resale of our advertising space to a third party.
Do you charge extra if we ask you to create the ad?
No. The prices are as published on our advertise
page, taxes not included. We are aware that not all of our advertisers
will have access to the necessary software to create their own ad. We
offer to produce either a simple text ad or use your logo / image as your
ad.

One benefit is after payment is received IATWM guarantees the ad
prices for one year. What is this date?
We use the invoice date and calculate one calendar year forward, so if we
invoice on December 16th, 2005 the prices are guaranteed, after payment is
received, until December 16th, 2006, for the first purchase only.
- For those purchasing with our upcoming articles, we generally send
the invoices the day after the edition is online.
- For those purchasing with existing articles, we will send the
invoice the day we place your ad online.
Our invoices include the direct link to the article, and provide an
opportunity to confirm the ad is as you wished. Our invoices are due upon receipt.
If the information sent to us is incorrect we will not consider the one
free change used for the correction.
May we buy all the advertising for an article?
Yes. First we will confirm that the full advertising is available. If
we have agreed to sell advertising space to anyone else we will advise
that the article is not available for exclusive advertising.
Our base price for this would be $630 plus taxes using
- 1 Top Leader Board
- 1 Bottom Leader Board
- 1 Half Header
- 1 Full Header
Then IATWM will determine the number of Wide Skyscrapers that
will fit in the article and charge 1/2 price ($100) for each one
that fits in its entirety, for example:
- 2 Wide Skyscrapers $200+ $630=$830
- 2 ¾ Wide Skyscrapers $200 + $630=$830
The advertiser who purchases exclusive advertising space may choose
which ad size they wish to run with the restriction that the advertising
space cannot be sold to a third party. We will place one ad in the
article when the advertising space has been exclusively purchased by an
advertiser.
If you do wish to place more ads in an exclusive purchase request talk
to us. We're flexible and encourage creativity.
Are media buyers excluded from purchasing on IATWM because of your third
party purchase restriction?
We will sell ad space to media buyers.
Our benefits for paid invoices apply only to the purchasing client not
to all of a media buyer's clients. If you have other ideas by all
means talk to IATWM.
What if we buy an ad but choose not to pay?
All of our additional benefits apply after payment is
received
and being a web publication we can easily delete an ad if payment isn't
received.
Why do you publish prices on your advertise
page? Why do you want payment after the ad is online and not before?
It's the same answer for both of these questions. Our goal is
to streamline the process. Our main business and your main business isn't
advertising and marketing but it is a part of our businesses. We want to
make it as simple as possible.
Why aren't advertisers the first to learn that the new edition of IATWM
is online with our ad?
IATWM informs our subscribers first that the new edition is
online as it says on our subscribe page.
As
a courtesy we advise those who worked with us, for example those who supplied images for our
articles and so on, right after the subscribers learn. In some
circumstances this is a requirement for image use.
Third our advertisers receive their invoices with the direct link to
the article that has their advertisement. Our extra benefits for paid
advertisement use the invoice date as the starting point.
Is there any way to be the first to find out the new edition of IATWM is
online?
Yes, subscribe to IATWM by sending an email to
this email address
Will IATWM sell their advertiser's email addresses?
IATWM doesn't keep any advertiser's addresses in an email
list. This is one reason it is imperative when requesting an ad that you
do not send an attachment even if you have purchased previously so we can
omit your email from our virus scanning process.
As we promised to our subscribers, we will not provide their information to
anyone, it is the same for our advertisers.
Prices and policies are subject to change without notice.
What was the last advertising policy change IATWM made?
IATWM ads remain with the articles for one calendar year.
